How dance helped me with my physical pain.

I was in the military and i got really hurt in my 6 years, back pain, migranes, knee pain etc etc. It took me a long time theraphy, visits to the chiropractor to actually relieve my pain to where it is manageable now. I also owe it to dance to how well i am doing, my doctors told me that i should start exercising and stretching i am not one for stretching or running. Weights at the moment were out of the question. So i took up dancing again after been out for a while, since it was painful. Took me longer to get back into it since i would be in so much pain and sore after dancing even a few songs. Would come back to my house and i would apply ice pack to my knees and my back, but after maybe a year of doing it every week, i realized that my pain and aches were starting to go away and my chronic pain was going down. Doctors were also surprised that i was doing so well and they asked what i did, i told them i was dancing, and they told me to keep it up since it is having such a drastic im...

Why you should take a few lesson before you go out to the dance floor.

Here are 3 reasons you should take a class before you go out to the dance floor.  1. Learn the basic step: Yes, this is very important the basic step in salsa will never chance you can go backwards, forward, side ways, even jump. You won't know this unless you take a class, some people want to learn at a club, that is great but copying someone will not teach you how to take that basic and turn it into something else.  2. Get to meet people: No better way to get into a scene anywhere you go than to go to a class, once there you will know who is serious about dancing and also if you need help once you at the club you can ask them, cause they were in the same class.  3. Privileges: I won't tell you to go to a class for this, but this can happen. You might get into the club for free once in a while, if you forget your ID you can just ask for the teacher and they will let you in.

The rules of salsa dancing

In salsa dancing there are some unspoken rules, that leads as well as followers adhere to. Here are some. 1. Don't try to teach a girl/guy to dance unless they ask you. There is nothing more annoying and you lose all interest, when someone starts telling you how to dance. Does not matter if that person knows more or not. Just let the person enjoy the dance, if you did not like how they dance just don't dance with them. Or tell them after you finish the dance.  2.Stay in your line of dance. When dancing salsa, you are suppose to be able to perceive everyone around you and not hit people or get  your partner hurt. There is nothing more dangerous than a person who does not know how to stay in their line of dance, and are bumping, hitting you, and sometimes woman stepping on you with their heels, which are dangerous. I myself have gotten some nasty cuts from heels. 3. Do not grope a woman or kiss her unless she asks you to. I have seen this happen many times especially in ba...
Halloween was upon us this past week ,many people chose to go to a normal club i decided to go to a latin club. One of the reasons i did this as because i wanted to dance in a safe environment and dance as well. I have been to the clubs in waikiki on halloween before, and it is fun but at the same time, everyone gets so drunk that no one is dancing, drinks are been spilled on you, people bumping, fights break out. In a salsa club you are rarely going to see a drunk guy, once in a blue moon, no one is going to be fighting or spilling drinks. People that go to this type of clubs just want to dance, and have fun. Dance floor is never going to be empty and you always going to be dancing, and girls you do no have to worry about been grinded on or someone pushing their junk on you from behind. Another reason to choose a latin club.

Why you should pursue Latin dancing in Hawaii.

Today i am going to be talking about 2 different reason you should pick up latin dancing in hawaii.  1. Latin scene is a big family- If you have dance in hawaii consistenly even for a 2 months, everyone is going to get to know you. So whenever you go out dancing again, you won't feel like a stranger walking into a club, someone that you know is going to be there so you can practice.  2. You won't get turned down- This is a big problem everywhere i have travelled to many places and i can definitely say that Hawaii is one of the friendliest places to dance. Everyone is just eager to dance with you even if you do not know them. I had an experience where i traveled to Mexico just to dance,  i am Mexican and i have to say i had one of the worse experiences there. The boyfriends/husbands where to possessive they would not let their ladies dance with no one but them. In hawaii you will not have that problem i can guarantee you that.  Girls and guys you should definitel...
Hello my name is Eric Espinoza, this blog is going to be about the places to go salsa/ bachata dancing in Hawaii. I have been dancing latin dances for 6 years, i got into it when i met some friends at a park and saw them dancing. It captured my attention and i decided that i wanted to in there instead of watching. I am mostly self taught, learning from people at the club. This Saturday i went to buho to salsa dance, live band Son Caribe, i arrived at 10:30 pm and it was packed. So many people that you could barely walk through the dance floor. The floor is not the best for spinning, as some of the tiles are sticking up, so you could trip if you are not careful. The place is very beautiful open ceiling and lots of air, great place to socialize but if you want to go there to dance instead of socialize i would say go at your own risk. There were more tourists than dancers, so it was dangerous out there, not many people knew how to dance so the risk of getting stepped on a hi...
